Are you passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are recruiting a Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist SEMH school in Preston, supporting students to overcome barriers and succeed both emotionally and academically.

The Role

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEMH needs

Use trauma-informed and nurturing approaches to support emotional regulation

Act as a positive role model and trusted adult

Support students to re-engage with learning and school life

Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SENCO

Help maintain a calm, safe and structured learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

Experience supporting young people with SEMH, mental health, or behavioural needs

Calm, patient and resilient approach

Strong communication and de-escalation skills

Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people
