Job Description

Job Title: Learning Disability / Mental Health Support Worker (Private Mental Health Hospital) Location: Nottingham Contract Type: Agency / Part-time Shifts: Days / Nights / Weekends available About the Role: We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team, providing person-centred care to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health needs. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities: * Supporting clients with daily living skills, personal care, and social activities * Promoting independence and choice * Supporting individuals with emotional regulation and managing behaviours of concern * Maintaining accurate records and following care plans * Working collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams * Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies where applicable Requirements: * Previous experience - 6 months minimum - supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure * Empathetic, reliable, and committed to person-centred care * Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willing to obtain one) * Up-to-date mandatory training (or willingness to complete) Desirable: * Experience with autism, ADHD, complex behaviours, or forensic mental health * Knowledge of safeguarding and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) * NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent What We Offer: * Competitive hourly rates * Flexible working hours to suit your availability * Ongoing training and development opportunities * Friendly and supportive team environment * Opportunities for career progression Apply today to make a real difference in the lives of others.
