Mental Health Teaching Assistant Stroud, Gloucestershire Immediate Start £89-£100 per day Are you passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of young people? Do you want to help students build resilience, confidence, and coping strategies so they can succeed both in school and beyond? We are looking for a Mental Health Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Stroud. This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with students, staff, and mental health specialists to provide personalised support and encouragement to learners facing emotional challenges. The Role: Provide consistent emotional support to students experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression and OCD Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them engage with learning and develop self-confidence Assist with the delivery of well-being and mental health interventions Work alongside teachers, parents, and external professionals to create individual support plans Track and review progress to ensure each student is supported effectively Foster a positive, safe, and nurturing school environmentWhat We're Looking For: Previous experience working with children (essential) Experience supporting young people with mental health needs (preferable) Safeguarding knowledge/training (essential, or willingness to complete) Level 3 qualification required; a degree, ideally in Psychology, is desirableWho This Role Suits: This opportunity is ideal for: Psychology graduates seeking hands-on experience in education and mental health Aspiring Educational Psychologists, SEN Teachers, or Support Workers looking to develop their career in a school settingIf you're empathetic, resilient, and eager to make a positive impact, we'd love to hear from you.
