Sport Mentor - Alternative Provision (Blackpool)
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Job Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only
Start Date: Monday, 3rd November 2025
Salary: £104.89 - £138.47 per day
Are you passionate about using sport to positively impact young people in alternative education settings?
We are seeking a motivated and resilient Sport Mentor to work within an Alternative Provision in Blackpool, supporting pupils who face barriers to mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning through physical activity and mentoring.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver structured sports and physical activity sessions tailored to individual needs
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support personal development
Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing
Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies
Support pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needsRequirements:
Experience working with young people in alternative or SEN settings (preferred)
Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills
Sports coaching qualifications or relevant experience
Patience, empathy, and resilience
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)What We Offer:
