Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Mentors to support children and young people across Wiltshire. With multiple opportunities available, this is your chance to play a vital role in helping students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. As a Mentor you will: Build trusting, supportive relationships with assigned students Encourage engagement with school and programme activities Support social-emotional development and well-being Provide consistent, reliable mentorship tailored to individual needs Collaborate with schools and programme staff to monitor progressAbout you: Strong interpersonal and communication skills Empathy, patience, and a non-judgemental attitude Experience working with young people (preferred but not essential) Ability to commit to regular mentoring sessions A genuine desire to make a positive impactPosition - Mentor Contract or position start date - ASAP Contract or position end date (if applicable) - N/A Full time/part-time - Multiple roles available- from 1 hour per week up to 15 hours per week Hours - Monday to Friday Essential & Desirable Qualifications: A background in youth work/ support work is highly desirable Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm, compassion and positivity are essential, along with a calm natureTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must: Hold right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application Provide references upon request Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
