SEN Mentor
Location: Bournemouth
Contract: Flexible hours - pick your own schedule!
Salary: GBP25-GBP30 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic Mentor to support young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Bournemouth/Christchurch/Poole. In this role, you will provide 1:1 mentoring to help young people build confidence, develop social skills, and achieve their personal goals, all while working on a schedule that suits you.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored mentoring sessions that encourage independence, resilience, and positive social interactions.
Support young people to develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a safe and nurturing environment.
Work closely with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure consistent support.
Act as a positive role model, promoting inclusion, respect, and personal growth.
Keep accurate records of progress and contribute to planning and review meetings.
About You
Experience of working with children or young people, ideally with SEN in any setting.
A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Strong communication and listening skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire young people to reach their potential.
Flexible and resilient in responding to individual needs.
To be eligible for the Maths and English Tutor role, you need:
Hold the right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Be able to reference the last two years of education/employment
Up to date Safeguarding training (can provide training)Before You Apply
