Are you an experienced MEP Design Manager with a strong grasp of design assurance processes?
Have you worked on major infrastructure or rail projects within Tier 1 main contractors?
Salary: Dependent on experience
Location: London (3 days in-office, 2 from home)
I'm supporting a leading engineering firm to recruit a permanent Design Manager to play a critical role in overseeing RIBA Stages 3–5 for complex infrastructure projects. This isn’t a technical design role — they’re not looking for a Design Engineer, but someone with strong design assurance capability and hands-on delivery experience.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership, helping shape and embed robust design assurance processes.
Experience Required:
3+ years in Design Management or Project Management with a design/assurance bias
Proven understanding of design assurance, verification, and early-stage design processes
Demonstrable experience with RIBA Stages 3–5 essential (GRIP or PACE a plus)
Tier 1 contractor background.
Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
A member of or working towards professional registration (EngTech, IEng, or CEng)
Familiar with Primavera P6, BIM/CAD, Aconex, and Power BI
Strong grasp of CDM, BREEAM, British Standards, and BG6
