We are representing a main contractor in the construction industry that has a strategy to significantly grow in the next 3 years. The business has successfully secured a significant amount and of contracts and the growth is on target. Due to this growth there is now a requirement for a MEP Site Manager.
This is a non-local role covering sites around London M25, overseeing contractor activities for MEP installations.
The Construction Site Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are executed efficiently, safely, and within budget. This position requires a combination of leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills to coordinate various teams and stakeholders involved in the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning and Coordination:
* Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets.
* Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment with project goals.
* Monitor and track project progress to ensure timely completion.
Team Leadership:
* Lead and supervise on-site construction teams.
* Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
* Provide guidance and support to team members.
Budget and Cost Management:
* Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to the budget.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
* Ensure construction activities comply with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
* Implement and enforce quality control procedures.
Communication:
* Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
* Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and resolutions.
Resource Management:
* Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials.
* Coordinate deliveries and logistics to meet project requirements.
Problem Solving:
* Address and resolve issues that may arise during construction promptly.
* Propose effective solutions to unforeseen challenges.
Documentation:
* Maintain accurate and detailed project documentation.
* Prepare reports for management and clients.
Environmental and Sustainable Practices:
* Ensure adherence to environmental and sustainability standards.
* Implement practices that minimize the environmental impact of construction activities.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
* Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
* Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are a plus.
* Familiarity with sustainable construction practices.
* Strong problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
