Job Description
We have partnered with a very well respected and growing £100m turnover MEP contractor with a strong presence delivering across the commercial, healthcare and life science sectors who are looking for an experienced and visionary MEP Operations Director to join our London team. This is a pivotal leadership role overseeing the operational delivery of their MEP projects across the region. Reporting to their MD, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction with autonomy to develop and implement a strategy to further enhance their brand and presence in existing and new sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all MEP projects in London and surrounding regions.
* Manage and mentor project and operational teams, promoting a culture of collaboration, performance, and professional development.
* Oversee project planning, resource allocation, financial forecasting, and risk management.
* Ensure rigorous health, safety, and environmental standards are maintained on all sites.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
* Contribute to business development activities and support tendering processes.
* Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and project delivery methodologies.
* Monitor project performance metrics and ensure proactive issue resolution.
About You
* Significant senior-level experience in MEP contracting or building services, ideally in a similar Operations Director or Senior Project Director role.
* Strong commercial awareness and experience managing complex, high-value projects (£20m+).
* Excellent leadership and people management skills.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client-facing abilities.
* Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Chartered status or professional membership (CIBSE, IMechE, IET, etc.) is advantageous.
* Proven track record of delivering projects safely, profitably, and to high quality standards.
