Job Description

METAL FABRICATOR Job Title: Metal Fabricator Location: Peterlee, County Durham Salary: £35,000 - £40,000(OTE - 50k) Shift: Days I'm working with a growing manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join its production team. You'll be responsible for manufacturing high-quality sheet metal components from engineering drawings and specifications. The role will involve cutting, folding, forming, drilling and assembling a variety of metal products while ensuring all work meets the required quality standards and tolerances. You'll use a range of fabrication equipment, including press brakes, guillotines and other workshop machinery. Depending on your experience, the role may also involve MIG and TIG welding, supporting prototype work and contributing to improvements across the production process. Sector - Manufacturing Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Sheet Metal Fabricator Previous metal fabrication experience. Ability to read and work accurately from engineering drawings. Experience operating fabrication machinery Confident measuring, marking out, cutting, folding and forming sheet metal. Able to produce components accurately and to tight tolerances. Requirements for the Sheet Metal Fabricator Health and safety conscious with a proactive approach. Experience working within a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Good attention to detail and quality standards. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Desirable Requirements for the Sheet Metal Fabricator MIG and/or TIG welding experience. Experience working with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. Relevant fabrication, welding or engineering qualification. Experience with CNC press brakes or other CNC fabrication machinery. Continuous improvement or prototype manufacturing experience.
