About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and enthusiastic French Teacher to join a high-achieving independent school in Wokingham. This is a full-time permanent position commencing in September 2025, and includes teaching French across Key Stages 3 to 5, with a small amount of Spanish at Key Stage 3.
The school has a strong focus on academic excellence, enrichment, and pastoral care. Languages are highly valued, and the department benefits from motivated students, excellent facilities, and a well-supported curriculum. This is an ideal role for a linguist who is passionate about French and confident in delivering some Spanish lessons.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality French lessons across KS3-KS5.
Teach a small number of Spanish lessons, primarily at KS3 level.
Inspire a love of languages and cultural understanding through engaging teaching methods.
Monitor, assess and support pupil progress, using feedback to aid student achievement.
Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school, such as language clubs, trips, or exchanges.
Collaborate with colleagues in departmental planning and development.
Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and student engagement.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a French Teacher who:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent qualification.
Has strong subject knowledge in French, with the ability to teach Spanish to at least KS3.
Is confident, enthusiastic, and committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
Is enthusiastic about working in an independent school setting with high expectations.
