About the role:
The school are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join their vibrant and forward-thinking Languages Department.
The successful candidate will be passionate about language education and dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential across French and German.
Subject: MFL (French, German)
Timetable: Full Time Preferable
Start: June 2025
Duration: Summer Term.
Key stage: KS3/KS4
LEA: Shropshire
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality language lessons in accordance with the curriculum.
* Teach MFL to students at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 depending on qualifications and experience.
* Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to inspire a love of languages and intercultural understanding.
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and attainment.
* Contribute to the development of the MFL curriculum and participate in departmental planning and meetings.
* Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages active participation.
* Support students with varied learning needs, adapting lessons and assessments as required.
* Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and school trips related to language learning and international culture.
* Maintain high standards of classroom management and behavior in line with school policies.
* Engage with parents, carers, and colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing.
Essential:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
* A degree in a Modern Foreign Language or a closely related field.
* Experience teaching at least one MFL (French, German).
* Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for MFL.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
