Role Overview:
As a Mid Weight Designer, you’ll blend technical expertise and creativity to produce innovative, functional designs tailored to project requirements. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to transform concepts into buildable solutions – supporting projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Development:
*
Create and develop detailed 3D designs using CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit).
*
Interpret project briefs and requirements to generate practical, forward-thinking design solutions.
*
Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to refine and finalise concepts.
Technical Detailing:
*
Produce precise technical drawings, diagrams, and documentation for fabrication and construction.
*
Ensure designs comply with UK regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
*
Coordinate with suppliers and fabricators to validate materials and manufacturing approaches.
Project Coordination:
*
Manage design deliverables in line with project timelines and budgets.
*
Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design intent is upheld throughout delivery.
*
Support during execution phases, resolving design queries and adapting plans as needed.
Research and Development:
*
Stay informed on industry innovations, materials, and technologies.
*
Contribute to design evolution by exploring new approaches and conducting feasibility studies.
*
Optimise designs for cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and efficiency.
Compliance and Quality:
*
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the design process.
*
Carry out reviews and revisions to maintain high-quality output.
Requirements:
*
Degree or diploma in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related discipline.
*
Proficiency in design tools such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar.
*
Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and construction methodologies.
*
Strong visualisation, problem-solving, and communication skills.
*
Ability to manage projects and multitask across priorities.
*
Experience in a design role within manufacturing, construction, or similar industries.
*
Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) is advantageous.
*
Skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) are a plus.

Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days on-site, 2 days from home)
Salary: Up to £45,000, depending on experience
