Location: Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub | Milton Keynes Council | Civic, 1 Saxon Gate East, Milton Keynes MK9 3EJ (3 Days a Week)
Pay Rate: £38 per hour
Must have a valid driving licence.
About the Role:
Milton Keynes Council is seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) / Duty & Assessment Team on a part-time basis (3 days a week). This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to safeguarding and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and families in the community.
As a QSW in the MASH/Duty Assessment Team, you will be responsible for conducting statutory assessments, engaging with families, and working within a multi-agency environment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children. The role offers hybrid working opportunities, but the successful candidate will need to be office-based for the first four weeks to complete induction and immerse in the Milton Keynes practice model and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and manage statutory assessments for children and families in need of support.
Work collaboratively with partners in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable children.
Ensure that assessments, plans, and interventions are completed in a timely and effective manner.
Actively participate in the embedding of Milton Keynes' practice model and values, contributing to the continuous improvement of services.
Provide professional advice, support, and guidance to colleagues and partners.
Manage a flexible caseload while ensuring compliance with child protection procedures and safeguarding standards.What We're Looking For:
Qualified Social Worker (QSW) with significant statutory experience in MASH or Duty & Assessment
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and the ability to implement this in practice.
A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle, as visits may be required as part of the role.
A commitment to working in line with Milton Keynes' practice model and values.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with children, families, and partner agencies effectively.Essential Requirements:
* Social Work Qualification - Degree or equivalent
* At least 3 years' experience as a social worker within children's services
* Social Work England Registration
* Driving license and access to own vehicle
