Mine Surveyor
Salary: £49,000 (OTE £55,000+)
Shift: Monday–Friday (Days) – No Nights/No Weekends
Location: Cheshire
BRAND NEW OPPORTUNITY to join one of the UK’s most established and respected mining operations! This is an exciting chance for a Mine Surveyor to play a key role in supporting safe, sustainable, and efficient operations for a Market Leading company in the Cheshire area. You’ll be joining a skilled Technical Services team within a business that’s investing heavily in its people, equipment, and future growth.
This position would suit an experienced Mine Surveyor, or a qualified Land/Engineering Surveyor looking to take their career into a unique and rewarding environment.
Skills required for the Mine Surveyor:
Degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
Proven experience in mine/land surveying – both open-pit and underground (desirable)
Professional certification (RICS/MRICS or equivalent) advantageous but not essential
Strong understanding of AutoCAD and surveying software
Excellent data interpretation and analysis skills
Confident communicator, able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
The Mine Surveyor will be responsible for:
Conducting routine mine surveys to statutory standards
Developing and maintaining accurate maps and plans of mining areas
Establishing and maintaining survey control networks
Monitoring and reporting on ground stability, ventilation, and gas concentrations
Calculating volumes of excavated and stockpiled materials
Producing detailed survey reports and supporting long-term mine planning
Collaborating with engineers and geologists to ensure safe and efficient operations
Supporting and mentoring junior surveyors and technicians
