Job Description
I am recruiting for an outstanding Ofsted rated special needs academy in South Ockendon. We are looking for a teaching assistant to drive children, with severe and profound needs, in a minibus to and from events/days out. For now, this is a Friday only role (08:45 – 15:30) until Christmas. £85 - £105 per day. There is a possibility for other days to become available as the role progresses.
Are you a patient, caring and respectful person with a commitment to supporting young people with additional needs? Are you always reliable, punctual and professional? If yes, this could be a role for you.
The successful candidate will:
* have a DBS on the update service
* be 21 years old or over
* have a full driving licence held for 2+ years (with D1 provisions) – able to transport passengers for pay.
* have a MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) qualification is desirable, but training can be provided if you don’t have this.
* be passionate about working with children with special educational needs, both with neurodiversity and physical impairments.
* have previous experience driving larger vehicles
