About the Role:
We are looking for experienced and caring Minibus Drivers to support our specialist transport service across South London. This position involves working on an ad hoc basis, providing safe and reliable transport for passengers with disabilities and special educational needs. As drivers often work without a passenger assistant, you will be responsible for the full journey experience — including operating accessibility equipment and ensuring passenger safety.
Main Duties:
* Drive a minibus to transport children and adults with disabilities.
* Safely operate the tail lift and secure wheelchairs using appropriate clamps.
* Provide support and assistance to passengers during boarding and disembarking.
* Carry out vehicle safety checks before each shift.
* Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures at all times.
* Deliver journeys with professionalism, patience, and care.
Essential Requirements:
* Full UK Driving Licence (D1 entitlement desirable).
* Enhanced DBS check with no convictions.
* Current MIDAS training (including tail lift and wheelchair clamping).
* Confidence working independently without a passenger assistant.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing schedules.
* Compassionate, respectful, and committed to passenger wellbeing.
