We are currently looking for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join our client’s team and help the client to maintain high standards across our housing estates and communal areas.
The Role
As a Caretaker, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the properties and communal areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained. You'll be a visible and approachable presence, helping to support residents and contributing to the overall quality of life within our communities.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out routine cleaning of communal areas (e.g., entrances, stairwells, lifts, corridors, bin stores).
* Report repairs, hazards, or anti-social behaviour to the appropriate teams.
* Carry out basic maintenance tasks (e.g., changing light bulbs, clearing minor blockages).
* Manage refuse and recycling areas, ensuring bins are presented and returned on collection days.
* Assist with site inspections and ensure communal areas comply with health and safety standards.
* Support resident move-ins and move-outs (e.g., checking communal conditions, removing bulky waste).
* Provide a courteous, helpful presence to residents and visitors.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* Reliable, self-motivated, and takes pride in maintaining clean and safe environments.
* Experienced in caretaking, cleaning, or basic maintenance roles (housing or facilities background preferred).
* Confident in dealing with residents, contractors, and colleagues in a friendly and professional way.
* Able to work independently and manage a routine workload effectively.
* Knowledgeable of health and safety practices and manual handling.
* Has a full UK driving licence
