Mobile Fabric Technician

Location: Hayes and surrounding areas
Salary: £38,030 basic salary + overtime at 1.5x
Hours: 45 hours per week

If you're an experienced Fabric Technician, Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician or Building Maintenance Technician looking for a mobile role around Hayes, this position offers a £38,030 basic salary, paid travel time, overtime at 1.5x and a company vehicle.

You'll be carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and general building maintenance across multiple client sites. The work covers a broad range of building fabric and external maintenance, including basic plumbing, joinery, paving, drainage, fencing, concreting and groundworks.

This would suit someone with a practical multi-trade background who is comfortable working independently, travelling between sites and taking responsibility for completing repairs to a good standard.

The Role

As a Mobile Fabric Technician, you'll travel between client sites across Hayes and the surrounding areas, carrying out planned and reactive building maintenance.

The work is varied and hands-on. You could be dealing with a building fabric repair one day, then completing paving, drainage, fencing or minor groundworks on another site.

You'll be provided with a company vehicle and tools, with travel time paid.

Key Responsibilities

Your work will include:

Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive building maintenance
General building fabric repairs
Basic joinery and carpentry
Painting and decorating
Basic plumbing repairs
Flooring repairs, including tiling and vinyl
Hard landscaping and general groundworks
Slab laying and modular paving
Block paving and kerb repairs
Minor brickwork repairs
Concreting and tarmac repairs
Fencing repairs
Channel drain and manhole replacement
External building and site maintenance
HVAC filter cleaning
Operating small plant and machinery where required
Completing jobs and updating records using an iPad and digital job management system
Following site Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices

What You'll Need

You'll need practical experience in building fabric maintenance, general maintenance or multi-trade repairs, ideally within facilities management, mobile maintenance or a similar environment.

The key requirements are:

Full UK driving licence
Experience carrying out general building fabric repairs
Practical knowledge of groundworks and external maintenance
Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
Comfortable using an iPad or digital job management system
Able to work independently across multiple client sites
Good standard of workmanshipAn NVQ, City & Guilds or other relevant trade qualification would be useful but is not essential.

Experience across several of the following would be particularly relevant:

Joinery | Basic plumbing | Paving | Concreting | Tarmac | Drainage | Fencing | Groundworks | Flooring | Brickwork

Previous experience as a Fabric Technician, Multi Skilled Technician, Maintenance Technician, Building Maintenance Operative or Multi Trade Operative would transfer well into the role.
