Mobile Forklift Engineer
Manchester
£34,000 + overtime
Alecto Recruitment are representing a leading independent supplier of forklift trucks and materials handling equipment in the UK. They offer a comprehensive range of new, used, and refurbished forklifts for hire or purchase. Package
Basic salary £34,000
Door to door pay
25 days holiday increasing after 12 months service by 1 day a year to a maximum of 30 days
Overtime & On-call - All engineers must do on call, the on-call rota is 1 week in 6 - Payment is £100 whether called out or not plus a minimum 4 hours at the applicable overtime rate (time +1/2 or double time if after midnight).
Main responsibilities
Conduct routine servicing and perform diagnostics to identify and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on a variety of forklift models, including electric and diesel.
Ensure all equipment adheres to safety regulations, including the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
Provide exceptional service by communicating effectively with clients, understanding their needs, and explaining the work performed.
Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each job.
Manage and maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools in the service vehicle.
Travel to various client locations to provide on-site support, including emergency breakdown assistance and scheduled maintenance.
Requirements
Experience with and a good understanding of electrics, diesel, and gas. This depot has a lot of electric trucks, so candidates have to be comfortable with electrics.
You will need a full clean UK driving licence.
NVQ or equivalent in an engineering/electrical/mechanical discipline is advantageous
(Forklift, FLT, Forklift trucks, fork trucks, Materials Handling Equipement, MHE, Agricultural Engineer, Mechanic, Service Engineer)
