Job Description
We are looking for a Mobile Gas Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.
Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Mobile Gas Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.
Our client is one of the largest facilities management and maintenance contractors in the UK, offering market leading opportunities for talented professionals looking for long term career progression.
The Mobile Gas Engineer will be responsible for:
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
* Undertake maintenance, repair, and installation of gas systems, along with supporting fabric and basic electrical tasks.
* Ensure all works are completed in line with legislative and compliance standards, particularly gas safety regulations.
* Complete and submit all necessary paperwork and digital reports accurately and within required deadlines, using handheld technology.
* Accurately identify and report remedial works, ensuring that certification and compliance documents are properly filled out.
* Supervise and monitor visiting subcontractors, ensuring high standards of workmanship and adherence to Health & Safety regulations.
* Issue and manage Permits to Work, and oversee small works and escort duties where required.
* Proactively identify additional work opportunities on sites and assist in preparing supporting information for quotations.
To be successful for this Mobile Gas Engineer role you must have:
* City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent qualification in Gas Engineering or a related mechanical discipline.
* Demonstrable experience in maintenance, fault finding, and testing of systems such as:
1. Boilers
2. Ventilation
3. Pumps
4. Generators
5. Switchgear
6. Cables
7. Batteries
8. Small power and lighting (where applicable)
* Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety practices and relevant legislation.
* Confidence in using digital handheld devices for work tracking and reporting.
* A full UK driving licence (essential for this mobile role).
* Willingness and ability to be part of an on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support.
* A proactive, flexible approach to work and a strong commitment to delivering high standards.
