Mobile HGV Technician

Birmingham
Our client, a family run vehicle recovery company, is seeking for a Mobile HGV Technician to join their team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to maintain HGV and trailer roadside recovery and cover the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
Role: Mobile HGV Technician
Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-6pm plus on call rota
Location: Birmingham
Key Responsibilities
* Respond promptly to roadside repair callouts for HGVs, diagnosing and fixing issues to minimise downtime.
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using modern diagnostic tools and techniques.
* Complete repairs, including brakes, suspension, exhausts, and other HGV components.
* Ensure all work meets safety standards and regulatory compliance.
* Maintain accurate records of completed work, including parts used and recommendations for additional maintenance.
* Communicate effectively with clients to provide updates and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Adhere to health and safety protocols and maintain the cleanliness and organisation of your service van and tools.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an HGV mechanic with a focus on roadside repairs and on-site servicing.
* Strong technical knowledge of HGV mechanical and electrical systems.
* Ability to use diagnostic equipment effectively to identify and resolve faults.
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
* A valid UK driving licence (HGV licence is advantageous but not essential).
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
* A strong commitment to health and safety and high-quality workmanship
