Job Description
Mobile Fitter - Heavy Equipment
📍 Covering roughly Sheffield, Nottingham, Peterborough, and everywhere to the right of those locations.
🕒 Full-time | 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday
About the Role
A well-established national heavy equipment engineering business is seeking an experienced Mobile Fitter to join their team.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for attending customer sites to carry out routine servicing, repairs, and breakdown support across a large and modern fleet of machinery. The position offers plenty of variety, autonomy, and the chance to work with a wide range of equipment, including telehandlers, excavators, dumpers, and rollers.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns on customer sites.

Carry out routine servicing in line with manufacturer specifications
*
Support the workshop when required
*
Identify and repair damaged or defective parts
*
Perform welding and fabrication repairs or modifications when necessary
*
Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards
About You
*
NVQ or equivalent qualification in Plant Maintenance (desirable)
*
Experience within the plant hire, HGV, or heavy machinery sectors (desirable)
*
Strong mechanical knowledge of plant equipment
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
*
Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
*
Customer-focused with high attention to detail
*
Full, clean UK driving licence
*
Own tools (specialised tools will be provided)
