Mobile Plant Operator
Corby (with UK travel) | 10 Days On / 4 Days Off | £43,000 OTE + Van & Fuel Card | Permanent | Immediate Start Available
Acorn by Synergie is seeking a Mobile Plant Operator to join a market-leading engineering business. Based out of Corby, this is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and reliable individual to take on a hands-on, varied role involving travel across the UK, with up to 10 nights away at a time.
The Role:
Operate and maintain mobile processing equipment at various sites across the UK.
Work on a 10 days on / 4 days off shift pattern (typically 6:00am - 6:00pm).
Travel and overnight stays required - all expenses, van, and accommodation covered.
Support with installation, servicing, and operation of high-performance machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and optimise mobile plant machinery to meet performance standards.
Assist Service Engineers both on site and in the workshop.
Carry out equipment assembly/disassembly and routine maintenance.
Supervise and train others once fully trained yourself.
Follow Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
The Person:
Experience operating plant or processing equipment (mechanical/electrical understanding).
Able to work independently and manage tasks at remote or client sites.
Flexible and adaptable to changing shift patterns and customer requirements.
Excellent communicator, customer-focused, and confident under pressure.
Self-motivated and proactive in learning and development.
Requirements:
Valid UK manual driving licence (clean preferred).
Willingness to work away from home for up to 10 days per shift cycle.
Forklift and/or telehandler licence desirable but not essential.
Process industry experience is an advantage but not required.
Pay & Hours:
Shift pattern: 10 days on / 4 days off.
Base salary: Starting at £25,500, rising to £31,000 upon objective completion.
OTE: Up to £43,000+ per year based on 12-hour shifts and overtime.
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x (Mon-Sat) and 2x (Sundays & Bank Holidays) after 85 hours per fortnight.
