Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester – Independent Workshop
Location: Wortley, Leeds, Yorkshire, LS12
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 basic per annum
Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time
About the Role:
Our client, a long-established and well-equipped independent workshop with over 17 years in the motor trade, is currently seeking a qualified Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their technical team. Key Responsibilities:

Carry out MOT tests and vehicle repairs as required

Process job cards and perform thorough inspections to ensure roadworthiness and compliance
*
Report faults and record completed work accurately
*
Liaise with the workshop controller and service reception to ensure smooth workflow
*
Use high-quality diagnostic tools and technical data to identify and repair vehicle faults
*
Maintain a strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and efficiency

Skills and Experience Required:
*
Minimum NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
*
Valid MOT Tester accreditation
*
At least 4 years of hands-on workshop experience in the automotive industry
*
Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to work independently
*
Full UK driving licence
Working Hours:
*
Standard shift: 40 hours per week, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
*
Extended shift option: 45 hours per week, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
*
Reasonable overtime may be required
