About the Engineer Role
This Engineer role is a mix of electrical and mechanical work, offering exposure to PLCs, CNC systems, automation, preventative maintenance, health & safety compliance, and process optimisation. Working the afternoon shift, you'll support operations by keeping machines running, systems compliant, and people safe. You’ll be at the heart of the site’s engineering and maintenance activities, working closely with internal departments, external contractors, and a wider engineering team to solve problems, improve performance, and keep production on track.
Key Responsibilities of the Engineer
* Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise downtime
* Deliver planned preventative maintenance and fault-finding
* Carry out work permits, inductions, contractor coordination and safety protocols
* Manage documentation for audits, permits, and risk assessments
* Collaborate with production teams to identify process improvements
* Support the commissioning and installation of new equipment
* Ensure systems like PPMs and contractor logs are always up to date
* Provide technical support on PLCs, controls, and electrical systems
What We’re Looking for in an Engineer
* City & Guilds BTEC Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
* 18th Edition (or working towards it)
* Confident with PLC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and TIG/MMA welding
* Skilled in fault finding, documentation, and compliance procedures
* Able to manage workload under pressure with attention to detail and comfortable working cross-functionally with contractors and colleagues
* Strong IT skills—Microsoft Word, Excel, digital systems, and PPM tools
* Willing to train or already qualified in IOSH, IPAF, confined spaces, and HACCP
What’s In It for You?
* Consistent afternoon shifts (2pm – 10.30pm) with work-life balance
* Opportunities for training, upskilling and development
* A supportive and collaborative team culture
* A stable and long-term career path with an established employer
* Recognition and trust for taking ownership and solving problems
Why Join This Engineering Team?
