Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

The Role:
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance of a wide range of standard and bespoke machinery. You’ll work across both planned and reactive maintenance, keeping production running smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on a variety of machinery and equipment.
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults quickly and effectively.
* Implement and manage preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
* Coordinate with production teams to schedule and prioritise maintenance tasks.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMM (Computerised Maintenance Management) system.
* Ensure all work is completed in compliance with HSE regulations and internal policies.
* Conduct quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure ongoing reliability.
* Provide emergency breakdown support when required.
* Support engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
* Collaborate effectively with team members, including joint maintenance work when required.
* Offer coaching and mentoring to junior engineers or apprentices.
About You:
We’re looking for a motivated and flexible engineer who takes pride in solving problems and improving processes.
You will have:
* A relevant qualification in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ, HNC, HND, or equivalent).
* Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
* Solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
* Familiarity with HSE standards and safe working practices.
* Experience with hydraulic systems, welding, milling/turning would be an advantage.
* The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
* Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
* A proactive, solution-focused mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt.
