Job Description

Our client is a global plastic injection moulding manufacturer with a busy UK site based in Wythernshawe. They are looking for an experience Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their busy Engineering team to ensure the smooth running of machinery and equipment. As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring that all machinery and production lines operate efficiently and safely. You’ll diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and help prevent breakdowns through effective maintenance routines.

Job Responsibilities

  * Respond to machinery breakdowns and diagnose electrical and mechanical faults

  * Carry out repairs on injection moulding machines and associated equipment

  * Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimise downtime

  * Support continuous improvement across maintenance processes

  * Ensure compliance with safety procedures and engineering best practices

  * Work closely with production teams to maintain smooth operations

  * Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation

Job Requirements

  * Proven experience as a multi-skilled engineer in a manufacturing environment

  * Strong electrical and mechanical diagnostic and repair skills

  * Experience working with injection moulding machines (highly desirable)

  * Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems

  * Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  * Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive approach

  * Relevant engineering qualifications (Electrical/Mechanical)

Hours:

This shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off and would consist of 2 days & 2 nights

(Days – 7am – 7pm & Nights 7pm – 7am)

As a result of it being 4 on 4 off this will fall during the weekends and would require you to work weekends occasionally.
