About the company
With significant investment over the last 24 months, this leading Food Manufacturing business in Blackpool is experiencing an impressive period of growth, with further improvement projects due to kick off in November 2025. To support this journey, we’re recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to strengthen a high-performing Engineering team.
The role
As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you’ll keep fast-paced production lines running safely and efficiently through a balance of proactive PPM and swift, quality reactive work. You’ll collaborate with Production, CI and Quality to drive reliability, reduce waste, and sustain best-in-class standards.
Key responsibilities
* Deliver reactive and preventative maintenance across processing and packaging equipment.
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults (motors, sensors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics).
* Support CI/TPM initiatives, RCA, and reliability improvements tied to site projects launching in November 2025.
* Execute planned shutdowns, changeovers, and line optimisations; update CMMS and maintenance records.
* Champion food safety, H&S, and GMP at all times; contribute to risk assessments and safe systems of work
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer in high-speed environment.
* Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
* Strong first-principles fault finding
* Sound knowledge of pneumatics/hydraulics; ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.
* Proactive mindset with CI/Lean exposure (5S, Kaizen, basic RCA); clear communicator and team player.
