Job Description
ROLE: Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
SALARY: Up to £42,000
LOCATION: Telford
THE COMPANY:
Red Rock Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business. Our client is dedicated to maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency, and product quality, with strong investment in engineering and continuous improvement.
WORKING HOURS:
Rotating shifts:
* Week 1: 06:00 – 14:00
* Week 2: 14:00 – 22:00
Flexibility required for occasional call-outs in line with business needs
DUTIES:
* Deliver preventative maintenance and respond to emergency breakdowns across the plant
* Lead by example on health and safety, ensuring compliance with company procedures and risk assessments
* Oversee and manage external contractors where required
* Install, repair, and overhaul single and three-phase electrical circuits, machinery, and site facilities
* Support new design, installation, and relocation of equipment
* Maintain accurate records of spare parts, labour hours, and engineering stores
* Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required
* Provide technical support, advice, and training to production teams
* Drive continuous improvement in equipment performance and site efficiency
THE CANDIDATE:
* Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer with electrical bias (18th Edition qualified)
* HND/Degree level or recognised electrical/mechanical apprenticeship
* At least 3 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment
* Knowledge of automation and PLCs (BRC experience desirable)
* IOSH and Level 3 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to perform under pressure
* Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
* Proactive, professional, and committed to continuous improvement
