Are you an inspiring and highly accomplished Music Teacher passionate about nurturing musical talent and fostering a lifelong love of music? Our leading independent school in the vibrant city of Chelmsford is seeking an enthusiastic Full-Time Teacher of Music to join our dynamic and highly successful department from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to cultivate musical understanding, practical skills, and creative expression in bright and engaged students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Music), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Music) within a supportive and ambitious educational environment.
In this rewarding full-time role, you'll get to:
* Spark Musical Curiosity: Deliver engaging and stimulating Music lessons, exploring diverse genres, historical periods, and theoretical concepts, fostering a deep appreciation for the art form.
* Develop Performance & Composition: Guide students in developing their performance skills (vocal and instrumental) and compositional abilities, nurturing their individual musical voices.
* Cultivate Aural & Analytical Skills: Encourage students to critically listen, analyse, and interpret musical works, enhancing their theoretical understanding.
* Contribute to a Collaborative Department: Join a supportive and innovative Music department that values teamwork, shared best practice, and a collective commitment to student success.
* Lead Extracurricular Music: Direct and support a wide range of extracurricular musical activities, including choirs, orchestras, ensembles, and musical productions, providing rich performance opportunities.
* Shape Future Musicians: Play a key role in guiding A-Level students towards further study at leading conservatoires and universities, and successful careers in music performance, composition, education, or the wider creative industries.
We're looking for a passionate and qualified Music Teacher with QTS and a strong academic and practical background in Music. A proven ability to deliver inspiring and effective lessons that spark creativity and a genuine enthusiasm for the subject across all key stages, particularly at A-Level, is essential.
