We are seeking a passionate and imaginative Music Teacher to join the performing arts department of a high-achieving secondary school in Portsmouth from September 2025. The school values the arts as a key part of its identity and regularly features in regional music festivals and national competitions.
Role Overview:
You’ll be responsible for delivering an engaging and inclusive music curriculum across KS3 and KS4, with potential for KS5. There are exciting opportunities to lead ensembles, direct school productions, and coordinate musical showcases throughout the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach classroom music across KS3–KS4 (KS5 available for the right candidate)

Promote creativity, technical skill, and performance confidence in all learners
*
Direct ensembles and collaborate with peripatetic staff
*
Lead whole-school concerts, choirs, and instrumental evenings
*
Use music tech to support modern composition and production
Candidate Profile:

Music or Music Education degree with QTS
*
Strong skills in performance, theory, and/or music technology
*
Committed to inclusive practice and enthusiastic music-making
*
A team player with a positive, student-centred approach
