Location: Reading, Berkshire Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS A high-achieving secondary school in Reading is inviting applications for a passionate Music Teacher to join its vibrant and inclusive Arts department. The school promotes a well-rounded music education that combines performance, theory, composition, and technology. Role Overview: The appointed Music Teacher will deliver lessons from KS3 to GCSE, develop students’ musical skills across genres, and contribute to a busy programme of concerts, shows, and extra-curricular ensembles. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse student population in a forward-thinking environment. Responsibilities: * Plan and teach engaging lessons that foster musical creativity and technical proficiency * Lead ensembles, choirs, and solo performance opportunities both in and outside school hours * Integrate music technology tools, including sequencing and recording software, into lessons * Organise concerts, workshops, and community performances to showcase student talents * Collaborate with colleagues to deliver cross-curricular projects and whole-school events Candidate Requirements: * Degree in Music or equivalent, alongside QTS * Demonstrable experience teaching music to secondary school students * Ability to play one or more instruments to a high standard * Strong organisational skills and a commitment to enriching student life through music School Environment: This school benefits from excellent music facilities, including practice rooms, a recording studio, and a well-stocked instrument inventory.
