Job Description

Role Overview

This is a newly created national business development role responsible for driving sales of insulated roofing, cladding and facade panels within major UK data centre developments.

Working as part of a growing specialist team, you will identify and secure new data centre construction projects across the UK, engaging with developers and end users such as Meta (Facebook), Google, Microsoft, Oracle Cloud and other hyperscale and colocation providers.

This is a consultative, specification-led sales role where you will work closely with end-user design teams to influence product selection at the earliest stages of project development. You will build relationships with architects, consultants and specifiers to secure product specifications before supporting Tier 1 main contractors, including BAM, Wates, Kier and Morgan Sindall, through project delivery.

Managing multi-million-pound opportunities from project identification through to order, you will sell complete building envelope solutions rather than individual products, working with multiple stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.

Ideal Candidate Profile

My client is less interested in the product background of candidates as the crucial attribute is the ability to demonstrate experience and knowledge of operating within the data centre sector. You will have a proven track record in specification sales and managing complex, solution-led projects, with experience engaging developers, end users, architects, consultants and Tier 1 main contractors.

You will possess strong business development skills, with the ability to identify, influence and secure new project opportunities, and be commercially astute with experience managing high-value, multi-stakeholder sales opportunities from specification through to project delivery.
