About the Role:
We’re seeking a Naval Architect to lead on vessel concept development, stability analysis, and optimisation strategies. This role blends technical leadership with project management, tool development, and close collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping advanced maritime projects from initial concept through to delivery, contributing to the development of novel design solutions for clean, efficient, and future-ready vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead vessel concept development and innovation-led naval architecture projects.
Take ownership of stability analysis and classification work using Paramarine (or similar).
Develop and maintain accurate weight estimations during concept and preliminary design phases.
Collaborate with CFD and hydrodynamics teams to define and support hull development pathways (without direct CFD responsibility).
Manage engineering projects across internal teams and external stakeholders.
Contribute to powering prediction models and performance estimations.
Design and implement custom toolsets in Python (or similar), supporting modern optimisation and analysis workflows.
Required Experience:
Strong experience with stability, classification compliance, and Paramarine (or comparable tools).
Proven track record in early-stage vessel design and weight estimation.
Experience working in cross-functional teams within a marine or ship design context.
Confidence in engineering project delivery and multi-stakeholder communication.
Familiarity with powering and performance prediction methods.
Ability to write, adapt, or understand bespoke engineering tools in Python (or equivalent).
