Naval Architect - Portsmouth Naval Base - £45,000

Are you ready to shape the future of naval engineering and support the Royal Navy's surface fleet? My client is looking for a talented Naval Architect to join their expert team based at Portsmouth Naval Base. This is your opportunity to contribute to high-impact maritime projects and be part of a skilled engineering team with a strong reputation for innovation and technical excellence.
What you'll be doing:
Performing structural analysis using ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and theoretical methods
Conducting ship stability assessments with Paramarine software
Supporting inclining experiments on naval vessels and conducting post-analysis evaluations
Designing ship modifications and capability upgrades
Carrying out drydock technical assessments and contributing to ship maintenance planning
Consulting on naval base infrastructure requiring naval architecture expertise
Involvement across the full ship lifecycle-from concept design to in-service support for naval platformsWhat we're looking for:
Degree-qualified (MEng) in Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, or Ship Science (essential)
Experience with ANSYS Workbench FEA tools (desirable)
Familiarity with Paramarine or similar naval architecture software (desirable)
Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor (desirable)Why join?
