NEC4 Supervisor
Carrington West are delighted to be working with a client in the public sector seeking an experienced NEC4 Supervisor to oversee civil engineering works on a major infrastructure programme.

Role Responsibilities
- Act as NEC4 Supervisor or Client's Representative for NEC4 Engineering and Construction Short Contracts (ECSC)
- Oversee on-site works, ensuring all construction aligns with technical drawings, specifications and NEC4 contract requirements
- Enforce site safety standards, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety and CDM Regulations
- Issue both verbal and written instructions to contractors, making real-time decisions to keep the project on track
- Identify and mitigate on-site risks, particularly in busy, congested urban settings
- Maintain detailed progress records in line with internal QA and reporting protocols
- Engage with local stakeholders, the public, and businesses to support communication and minimise disruption
- Provide support with design adaptations in response to site conditions
- Collaborate closely with contractors, designers, client teams, and quantity surveyors to coordinate all project elements
Requirements
- RQF Level 3-4 (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience
- Proven experience supervising civil engineering projects
- Sound knowledge of NEC4 contracts and associated specifications
- Strong understanding of statutory requirements including Chapter 8, NRSWA, and relevant H&S legislation
- Valid CSCS card (Professionally Qualified Person or equivalent)
Decision-Making Responsibilities
- Approve contractor methods of working and completed works
- Assess and approve construction materials used on-site
- Review and approve H&S method statements and management plans
- Interpret and adapt design specifications as required on-site
Working Conditions
- Site-based role with access to a central office or site office
- Regular work on live highways and active construction environments
- Occasional lone working and high levels of public interaction
- Must be able to travel to various project locations as required
