Neck Ring Repairer / Toolroom Technician
Rotherham
Rotating Days & Afters (Mon-Fri)
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Neck Ring Repairer / Toolroom Technician to join our Mould Shop in Rotherham.
This is a hands-on, skilled role focused on the repair, preparation, and maintenance of glass mould and neck ring equipment, supporting continuous production across days and nights.
You will be working in a precision engineering / toolroom environment, using hand tools, grinding equipment, and welding techniques, and working accurately to engineering drawings and job specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Repair neck rings and mould equipment to job card and engineering specification
Prepare neck and mould equipment in line with production plans
Accurately record all repair work on report sheets
Maintain adequate tooling and neck ring stock for continuous production
Repair mould and blank equipment ready for production runs
Work closely with the Mould Shop Manager to flag issues and priorities
Read and follow engineering drawings and job cards precisely
Maintain high standards of housekeeping and organisation
Carry out any other reasonable toolroom duties within your skill set
What We're Looking For
This role will suit someone with a strong practical engineering background who takes pride in accuracy and workmanship.
Essential
Experience in toolroom, bench fitting, or mould repair
Strong hand-tool and grinding experience
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
Good organisation and record-keeping skills
A reliable, professional approach to attendance and timekeeping
Desirable
Glass mould or neck ring equipment experience
Toolroom apprenticeship or equivalent training
Experience in gas welding
Previous manufacturing or production support environment
Shift Pattern & Pay
Rotating Days / Afters (Monday-Friday)
Days: 6:00am - 2:00pm
Afters: 12:00pm - 8:00pm
Basic hourly rate: £14.89
Shift supplement: £2.68 per hour
Attendance allowance: 4.75%
Average annual salary: £35,438 (based on 100% attendance)
