Neighbourhood Officer * £36,886.25 per annum * Stokesley/North Yorkshire * Contract: Permanent * Full time (37 hours per week) * Deadline for applications 31st March 2026 * Interviews 15th April 2026 Are you passionate about creating sustainable communities? What you'll be doing As a Neighbourhood Officer, you'll play a proactive and visible role in our communities, helping to create safe, clean and sustainable neighbourhoods where people want to live and stay. You will: * Provide day‑to‑day tenancy management and support, including pre‑tenancy assessments, sign‑ups, decants and early intervention where support needs or tenancy issues arise. * Act as a key point of contact for customers, maintaining a strong presence in our neighbourhoods through visits, estate walkabouts and community engagement. * Deliver regular estate and communal inspections, ensuring fire safety actions, environmental issues and planned works are followed up promptly. * Address low‑level tenancy breaches, neighbour disputes and noise issues in line with the Neighbourhood Offer and Good Neighbourhood Management Policy. * Build strong relationships with residents, colleagues and partner agencies such as the Police and Community Safety Team to understand local issues and reduce crime and anti‑social behaviour. * Carry out essential tenancy‑related checks such as mutual exchange inspections, end‑of‑tenancy visits and planned property assessments. * Keep clear, accurate records and ensure all actions comply with policy, legislation and our Customer Promise. You will bring: * Experience in housing or a related field, with a good understanding of tenancy and estate management. * Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions and manage issues early. * Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, with the confidence to engage customers, colleagues and partners. * The ability to manage a varied caseload, stay organised and work proactively in a performance‑driven environment. * Good attention to detail, accurate record‑keeping and the ability to follow policy, procedure and legal requirements. * Flexibility to work in the community, sometimes outside normal working hours, and a commitment to keeping customers at the heart of everything you do.
