Network Engineer

12 Month FTC

Glasgow - Hybrid

Do you have strong Cisco networking experience and a solid background in complex enterprise infrastructure? This is an opportunity to join a prestigious global law firm undertaking a significant cloud migration programme, where you will be delivering 3rd line operational support across a complex global network environment, sitting within a busy IT infrastructure team and covering both BAU and project-based activity. The role is ideal for someone equally comfortable with hands-on troubleshooting as they are engaging with stakeholders and third-party vendors, and who thrives in a highly regulated, process-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Respond to, troubleshoot and resolve network issues raised via the ticketing system, providing top-level support across WAN and LAN technologies.

* Oversee and maintain network infrastructure, ensuring continued availability and reliability across the global estate.

* Ensure the network meets required security standards and controls, with a strong focus on Layer 7 technologies.

* Work with third-party vendors to identify root cause analysis on support issues.

* Support the implementation of new technologies, contributing to both BAU and project initiatives including the ongoing Azure cloud migration programme.

* Produce clear support documentation and technical implementation plans.

Key Requirements:

* Comprehensive Cisco switching experience, including Nexus 3k and 9k environments.

* Strong knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF.

* In-depth experience with Palo Alto and/or Fortinet firewall technologies.

* HP Aruba wireless experience, including global deployments.

* SD-WAN experience, ideally with HP EdgeConnect devices.

* Solid VPN and MPLS network experience.

* CCNP, CCIE or equivalent knowledge.

* Comfortable working within structured change management processes in a highly regulated environment.

* Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure and ExpressRoute, is advantageous.
