Job Title: New Product Development (CAD) Engineer

Job overview:
This global manufacturing leader is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented New Product Development Engineer a highly skilled and innovation-focused team. This role plays a pivotal part in bringing new concepts to life—from prototype qualification through to full-scale production documentation—while ensuring robust design processes and validation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the qualification of new prototypes and concepts to ensure feasibility and performance.
* Drive the release of complete manufacturing documentation, ensuring clarity and compliance.
* Participate actively in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis sessions to mitigate risk and improve design robustness.
* Contribute to product validation processes, including test planning and outcome reporting.
* Conduct root cause analysis based on test data, feeding improvements back into design cycles.
* Design, model and assemble parts using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, integrating functionality, manufacturability, and innovation.
* Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications in line with ISO Drawing Standards.
Qualifications & Experience
* Ideally educated to Engineering Degree level (Mechanical, Product Design, or related discipline) but not essential.
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in product development, ideally within a manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.
* Proficient in SolidWorks with a solid understanding of engineering principles and CAD modelling.
* Familiarity with design validation, documentation standards, and root cause analysis tools.
* Exposure to DFMEA methodologies is a strong advantage.
