Job Description

Alexander Steele Recruitment are working with an established food manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire, who are seeking an experienced Shift Production Manager to join their team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, overseeing night shift production, food safety and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  * Lead the site's health and safety agenda, investigating and closing out accidents, near misses and RIDDOR reports to eliminate risk

  * Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP and product specifications, working closely with the QA team

  * Oversee day-to-day production, holding daily briefings with team leaders to review performance and resolve operational issues

  * Monitor KPIs including OEE%, labour hours and delivery targets, driving efficiency through Total Lean Culture (TLC) tools

  * Manage labour, raw material and production costs, producing daily variance reports and identifying cost-saving opportunities

  * Lead, develop and coach a team of Team Leaders and Setters, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture

  * Drive employee engagement, ensuring fair and transparent management of absence, lateness and holiday

  * Conduct performance reviews and development plans, supporting continuous improvement and career progression

On Offer

  * Up to £44,500 p.a. - depending on experience

  * Monday to Friday, 10.30pm - 7am
