Job Summary
The Night Supervisor is responsible for delivering high-quality care and supervision during night shifts in a secure care setting for young people aged 11–18 years who have experienced significant trauma. The role requires practicing within trauma-informed, person-centred models such as the Sanctuary Model, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), and Restorative Practice to support young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

Pay Rates: between £15.21 - £19.77 PAYE inclusive of holiday pay
Hours / Working Days: 37.5 hours per week across working 5 days between Monday to Sunday, working hours 22:45-8:15

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Under the direction of senior staff including Night Coordinators and Home Managers, the Night Supervisor will:
* Maintain professional registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC).
* Be active throughout the night shift in providing supervision and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the young people.
* Support young people during crises or significant events with emotional intelligence and resilience, applying training in TCI and Sanctuary Model values.
* Conduct regular environmental and safety checks, including monitoring fire and security systems.
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Build effective, supportive relationships with young people to promote development and positive change.
* Adhere to relevant legislation, regulations, and care policies.
* Maintain accurate records in line with regional administrative and recording standards.
* Complete all necessary documentation such as risk assessments, incident reports, and communication logs.
* Participate in and, when necessary, lead handovers to ensure consistent and effective communication.
* Understand and follow individual Risk Assessments and Crisis Management Plans, and report any changes in behaviour or risk.
* Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and follow relevant procedures.
* Collaborate with external professionals (e.g., emergency services, on-call teams) as needed during night-time incidents.
* Ensure care and interventions align with each young person's Therapeutic Care Plan.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation and best practices relevant to the role.
Essential Criteria
Experience
* Minimum of two years’ professional experience working with children or young people aged 11–18.
Qualifications
* NVQ/QCF Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant area.
Note: If not currently held, the successful applicant must undertake training and achieve the qualification within a set timeframe upon employment.
* Registration
* Must be registered with NISCC (or an equivalent body) before starting the role.
* Other Requirements
* Must successfully complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training (or equivalent) within three months of appointment, and maintain accreditation through annual refresher training.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (exceptions apply for individuals with a disability, where reasonable transport accommodations are available)
