Job Description
Are you calm, caring, and dependable, even in the middle of the night? Do you want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people?
Quokka Education is supporting an Outstanding day and residential special school for boys aged 10-16 with a range of needs, including ADHD, autism, and challenging behaviour.
We're looking for compassionate Night Waking Residential Child Care Workers to join their supportive residential team. This is a rewarding opportunity to help provide a safe, nurturing environment during the crucial overnight hours.
About the Role:
* Work overnight to ensure the safety and wellbeing of pupils in residence
* Monitor sleeping children and respond appropriately to any needs that arise
* Carry out basic domestic duties and record-keeping as required overnight
* Maintain a calm, consistent, and reassuring presence for the children
* Support pupils in line with individual care plans and safeguarding protocols
Who We're Looking For:
* A patient, reliable, and caring individual with a genuine passion for supporting children
* Experience in residential or childcare settings is desirable
* A Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) is preferred-but training can be provided for the right candidate
* Strong communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to safeguarding
* Someone who is resilient, observant, and able to remain calm under pressure

Role Details:
* Location: Eastleigh
* Start Date: As soon as possible
* Contract Type: Part-time (minimum 2 nights, up to 4 nights per week)

* Salary - C grade £24,405 - £25,430
