Job Description

NOC Engineer Redruth, Cornwall. Full time on site. £33 – 37.5k with benefits such as bonus, private health, enhanced pension + more. 4 on, 4 off working pattern. 8-8 shifts (1 week on days, 1 week on nights). This role is working directly for a telecoms service provider, and they are in a continued stage of growth. They are well funded are constantly winning new contracts with both the private and public sector. These are an exciting company with 250+ headcount and offices all over the world. They work across both public and private sectors, supplying connectivity, communication and IT solutions to a range of organisations within the maritime, defence and commercial sectors. You’ll be joining a team of 10 in the Redruth office and working in the NOC. You’ll be reporting into the head of ops, and at any given time there will be between 6-10 other engineers on your shift. They currently have 6 x 1st line engineers, 3 x 2nd line engineers 2 x 3rd line engineers and of course a team lead. In this role, you’ll be working as a 1st line supervisor, dealing with any escalation that the first line cannot resolve as well as proactive monitoring of the various systems. Some of the systems here are bespoke so it is not expected that you come in and know everything, meaning we are looking for someone with a solid foundation knowledge and is willing to learn anything they don’t already know. You’ll be liaising with internal colleagues as well as external customers so that service provider background is key with this one. Your background: Ideally, we’re looking for someone with from a sat comms / telecoms company. Chances are, you will have worked in a similar environment in a customer facing role. Maybe you’re already at 2nd line or maybe you’ve been at 1st line for a few years and are looking for the next step in your career then this could be the role for you. It is a juniper bias environment, but we’re open minded in terms of vendor background. The office is based in Redruth, so you’ll have to live in a commutable distance from there. Benefits package is good, yearly bonus, ongoing training and development, enhanced pensions, and it’s 25 days plus with a flexible working week once probation is completed. Next steps… If this sounds like something you would be interested in, you have 3 options * Call Joe White at CRG TEC to find out more.
