Social Worker - First Response Team | Trafford Council | Non-Case Holding Role
Location: Trafford Town Hall, Trafford
Service: Family Help & First Response Team
Contract: Agency
Trafford Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our First Response Team, a service that brings together Family Help Services with the Front Door of Social Care. This is a non-case holding role that focuses on community-based intervention, supporting families to build on their strengths and access the right support at the right time.
About the Role
As a Social Worker in the First Response Team, you will:
Act as a key professional in front door social work, working alongside First Response Advisors and partner agencies.
Assess risk, identify needs, and facilitate effective interventions for families in the community.
Support families to access services, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, ensuring timely and appropriate referrals and interventions.
Contribute to service development, sharing knowledge and best practice across the team.
Occasionally work outside core business hours, in line with service requirements.
Person Specification
We are looking for a Social Worker who:
Holds a Social Work England registration with relevant professional qualifications.
Has knowledge and experience of risk assessment, safeguarding, and levels of need.
Can engage effectively with families, partners, and communities, building relationships based on trust and respect.
Demonstrates strong partnership working skills, able to bring together advice, guidance, and services to create actionable plans.
Is confident in making professional decisions and facilitating work transfers to the right service at the right time.
Has flexibility and resilience, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
