NPI Team Leader
Role Overview
This role focuses on leading the successful introduction of new electronic products into manufacturing. The NPI Team Leader will manage a small cross-functional team and coordinate the transition from design through to full-scale production. The position requires a strong technical grounding in electronics and manufacturing, alongside solid leadership and project coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
Lead new product introduction projects from prototype to volume manufacture.
Coordinate build activities, ensuring design intent and manufacturing quality are maintained.
Manage accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the MRP system.
Develop and maintain clear documentation: build instructions, test procedures, and configurations.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve design-for-manufacture (DFM) issues.
Drive continuous improvement across NPI processes and team capability.
Support and manage team performance through clear direction, coaching, and development.Essential Skills & Experience
Background in electronic manufacturing, ideally with hands-on skills such as soldering and reworking SMT and through-hole components.
Confident reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Experience with MRP/ERP systems and BOM management.
Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability to component level.
Understanding of 3D mechanical models (SolidWorks experience preferred).
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate technical teams in a manufacturing environment.Qualifications
HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
