Ophthalmic Specialist Nurse
Location: Bath – Private Hospital, Outpatients
Hours: 37.5 per week (Full-time)
Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Are you an experienced Ophthalmic Nurse looking for your next career move? Join our dedicated Outpatients team in Bath and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive, modern private hospital setting.
About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated Ophthalmic Specialist Nurse to provide expert clinical care and support across a wide range of ophthalmic services within our Outpatients department. You’ll work alongside consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure our patients receive safe, compassionate, and effective care from consultation through to treatment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality, evidence-based ophthalmic nursing care in an outpatient setting
* Support patients through their treatment pathway, providing information, education, and reassurance
* Assist consultants during diagnostic procedures and minor interventions
* Undertake specialist ophthalmic assessments, including visual acuity testing, IOP measurement, and pre/post-operative care
* Maintain accurate patient records and uphold the highest standards of infection control and clinical governance
* Contribute to service development and help drive continuous improvement in patient care
About You
* NMC registered nurse with post-registration experience in ophthalmology
* Evidence of continued professional development within ophthalmic nursing practice
* Strong clinical and organisational skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
* Excellent communication skills with a patient-centred approach
* Passion for delivering outstanding care in a private healthcare environment
