Nursery Assistant

Location: Halifax
Hours: Wednesday & Thursday, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary – Ongoing

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Assistant to join a friendly and supportive nursery setting in Halifax. This is a part-time, ongoing temporary role ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and enjoys helping young children learn, play, and develop.

Requirements

  * Experience working within a nursery or early years environment

  * Enhanced DBS (on the update service preferred, or willingness to obtain one)

  * Knowledge of EYFS guidelines

  * Strong communication and teamwork skills

  * A caring, patient, and positive attitude

  * Ability to follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  * Support the day-to-day running of the nursery room

  * Assist with planning, setting up, and supervising age-appropriate activities

  * Engage children in play, learning, and social development

  * Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment

  * Provide support with meals, personal care, and hygiene routines

  * Observe and record children’s progress following EYFS guidance

  * Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

  * Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are met at all times

  * Help with preparing resources and tidying the environment at the end of the day
