Nursery Assistant/Nursery Practitioner
📍Location: Barking & Dagenham

💰Rate: £17–£18 per hour (Umbrella)

About the Role
* We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant/Nursery Practitioner to join Children's Centre in Barking and Dagenham. In this role, you will play a key part in safeguarding and supporting children aged 0–5 years, following Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance. You will create a stimulating learning environment where children can develop independence, confidence, and wellbeing, whilst working in close partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the safeguarding, health, and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times.
* Act as a key person for a group of children, completing developmental checks, assessment reports, and home visits.
* Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with EYFS guidance to support learning and development.
* Work alongside the SENCO to assess and meet the needs of children with additional requirements.
* Maintain accurate records, attend meetings, and contribute to staff development.
* Build strong relationships with parents/carers and provide effective handovers.
✅ Requirements:
* NVQ Level 2 in Early Years and Childcare (or equivalent).
* Experience of working in early years/childcare settings.
* Knowledge of EYFS and child development for ages 0–5.
* Strong communication skills with parents, carers, and external agencies.
* Organised, flexible, and able to work effectively in a team.
